For Lynchburg is a week dedicated for us to lock arms to endear, love, and serve our community. This June we will have the opportunity to serve and partner with organizations that are making a difference in our local community. We will be serving the homeless, partnering with local schools, working with Isaiah 117 house, spending a day caring for first responder families, and running a kids’ camp for foster kids.
Each day will have a different serving opportunity. Our hope is to unite our body and other churches to the greater mission in Lynchburg.
Jesus says that the greatest commandment was to love God and the second was to love others. This is our opportunity to pour out our love for others in our community. Join us on June 26-July 1 “For Lynchburg”.
Monday, June 27: School Project – Join us as we partner with Dunbar Middle School to do work projects and support one of the amazing schools in our area. Tuesday, June 28: Mosaic Project – We will be hosting a day camp experience for our foster families in our community. This will be a day of fun and community for these kids and students! Our volunteers for this day will help run games, serve food, work with crafts, and so much more.
Wednesday, June 29: Park View Missions Project – Park View Missions is most well-known for providing food and clothing for those in need. They offer an opportunity for healing and restoring lives by helping people develop new skills and utilize resources to build their own bridges from their present circumstances toward a better lifestyle. We will be working with them doing key work projects to help them continue to minister to those in most need in the greater Lynchburg area. No expertise is required as we will have team members working alongside us to help and guide us. We will provide all the supplies; all we need is you!
Thursday, June 30: First Responders Day – We will be hosting our first responders and our law enforcement for two special events. The first event will be a conference for our first responders from 10 am - 2 pm. For this event, we will be serving, through hosting efforts, to make them feel welcome as well as serving them lunch. The second event will be from 5 pm - 8 pm and will be a night out for our law enforcement families. We will serve them dinner and take care of their children as well as host them for an evening conference.
Friday, July 1: Isaiah 117 House Project – We are so excited to announce that Isaiah 117 House has purchased a home! While this is very exciting news; it needs a lot of work. We will be partnering with them to do work projects and help make this house functional to the needs they have as an organization. No expertise is required as we will have team members working alongside us to help and guide us. We will provide all the supplies; we just need you!
